The children's author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The author

Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
