Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slam events this year.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of her remaining competitions in 2025 because of a medical condition she has been fighting in recent days.

At 22 years old had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to regain her health prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

These plans will include her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks in her opening round versus Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the third set in the match with Zhu due to back discomfort that has affected her on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved 28 victories during 2025 and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route then falling in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled late this year.

She mentioned that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in August's Cincinnati tournament.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
