Red Bull Reveals Significant 2026 Driver Line-Up: Hadjar Elevated, 18-Year-Old Arvid Lindblad Earns Formula 1 Seat.

The Red Bull team has confirmed a new line-up for the 2026 Grand Prix year, promoting French driver Isack Hadjar to its A-team and handing British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden F1 drive.
Lindblad, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, will be team-mate to New Zealander Liam Lawson at the junior outfit Racing Bulls.
This reshuffling means Japan's Yuki Tsunoda losing his seat after five seasons.
Who is Arvid Lindblad?
Arvid Lindblad drove FP1 for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix in the current season.
Lindblad has been tagged as a rising talent by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.
Regarding the company's young driver programme, a key advisor noted last year that Lindblad "looks really promising", commending his "pure speed".
The team has had a plan for some time to prepare Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring appearances in F1 practice sessions at Silverstone and Mexico City.
Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", adding: "Next season represents a massive test, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm eager to collaborate with the team and rise to it. I can't wait to get started."
He has won a couple of victories in F2 so far this season and is P6 in the standings heading into the final round in Abu Dhabi.
The Frenchman's Chance
Isack Hadjar enjoys his maiden top-three finish in F1, achieved at the Zandvoort race in August.
Hadjar's F1 career started in difficult fashion when he spun out on the formation lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has emerged as one of the most impressive newcomers this season.
His performances included an remarkable top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the drivers' standings.
A senior team figure said: "Hadjar has displayed impressive growth and demonstrated to be a fast adapter. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can succeed alongside Max."
The promoted driver called it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "prepared".
The Lawson Decision
For the seat at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda.
Lawson started 2025 with the senior squad but was demoted after just two races. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, persuading Red Bull he merits more time.
Tsunoda, in contrast, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His highest finish is a P6, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's points total.
These announcements mean that there is also no place on the Red Bull academy for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 next season.
