A individual accused with stalking Kate McCann reportedly recorded her a phone message which asked: "imagine I am Madeleine?"
The defendant, twenty-four, who court testimony revealed has consistently asserted she was the disappeared Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are facing charges charged with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February 2025.
On Monday, the tribunal heard communication data and evidence retrieved from phones recorded Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test during that period.
Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a trip in Portugal - is among the most widely reported child disappearance cases and continues to be unresolved.
One voicemail, shared in court, recorded Ms Wandelt saying: "I know I'm fat and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I believe what I know."
While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone said: "Suppose there is a small chance that I'm her? What then? Isn't that significant for you?"
"I am not seeking money, I maintain a existence here in Poland, I only wish to understand," she added.
The panel was told that via emails, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, transmitted childhood photos to her phone in a bid to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a early life with the McCanns.
Robert Jones, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who collated the evidence, advised the court there "didn't appear to be any replies" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt also contacted acquaintances of the McCanns, according to the call data.
On that date, Mr McCann answered a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."
That day Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's recording declaring "I will continue and I will prove my position."
The court was informed the co-defendant established a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding accompanying her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in Leicestershire in that winter.
Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had reached out through communication app to Mrs McCann to express the press had characterized Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she ought to be considered genuine in the period preceding the visit to that location, that area, in that winter.
The court heard communications between the two individuals, in that autumn, planning attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from silverware at a eating establishment.
"We must assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.
On the occasion of the appearance to their residence, Mrs Spragg dispatched a text which stated: "We're currently sat adjacent to the McCanns' home with our lights out similar to detectives. I wanted to accomplish this with someone else I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."
The case continues.
